MANILA, 30 September 2012 - Returning oversea Filipino workers (OFWs) or their dependents can now avail of various occupational safety and health courses as part of their benefits under the Skills-for-Employment Program (SESP)of the Overseas Workers and Welfare Administration (OWWA). To avail of the said benefit, all the prospective enrollee has to do is to present the following documents to the OWWA’s Education and Training Unit, 2nd Floor of the OWWA Main Office in Pasay:
1) Quotation as to the cost of the training from the People360 Consulting Corp;
2) Photocopy of the safety training organization’s accreditation certificate;
3) Course outline of the course selected, as Basic Occupational Safety and Health (BOSH) and the Construction Safety and Health (COSH) or other such courses; and
4) BIR registration of the training provider.
The BOSH and the COSH are popular courses taken by returning OFWS or those who are for deployment since the certificates of training are acceptable documents either for entry or promotion purposes abroad especially in the Middle Eastern countries.
