World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2020…Stop the Pandemic

This April 28, the annual World Day for Safety and Health at Work is faced with many challenges on all governments, employers, and workers across the globe. The COVID-19 pandemic disrupted lives – posed economic and social uncertainties, and threatened businesses and livelihoods worldwide. Hence, this year’s campaign, “Stop the Pandemic: Safety and Health at Work can Save Lives,” is focused on the crisis and how to address such outbreaks of infectious diseases, particularly at the workplace.

People360 has been proactively educating the People360 community about Covid-19 before it was declared as a pandemic. Since February, People360 HR and management has conducted a series of COVID-19 awareness and prevention to the employees and the community. Info flyers and tarps were also provided to the barangay to increase the awareness of the community.

When the pandemic was announced, Community Quarantine was declared, followed by the implementation of Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ), the following actions were taken:

– Task Force was organized to plan the company’s preparations during this pandemic—Preparedness, Response and Recovery procedures.

– Flexible working arrangement was established to protect the employees and ensure their safety during this time. This was also enforced in compliance with government ECQ declaration.

– Daily monitoring of all employees was established thru an online form for everyone to answer and track their health progress.

– Financial assistance was given to support employees and encourage them to Stay at Home. It is also a reassurance for their mental and emotional wellbeing.

– As part of the Business Continuity plan, the company was able to deploy teams at Bulacan and Batangas branches when the ECQ was not yet implemented on the region.

– People360 made sure to provide PPEs, alcohols, personal utensils, thermometers to the teams and staff at the main and office branches to safeguard all employees’ safety.
